Masai Mara

...an extension of the Serengeti Plains in Tanzania

The Masai Mara in Kenya is the northern extension of the great Serengeti ecosystem that begins deep in Tanzania, and is home to one of the greatest proliferations of large mammals on earth .

The Mara is world-famous for its immense quantity and quality of wildlife – and in particular, for the wildebeest migration. If you have watched nature documentaries portraying thousands upon thousands of wildebeest and zebra hurtling into a raging river teeming with crocodiles, then this was most likely filmed here in Kenya’s Masai Mara.

This area offers some of the best game viewing in Kenya. On these wide, open, rolling grasslands you will see an incredible variety of different animals at any one time.

From a cheetah perched on a termite mound, surveying a passing group of Thompson’s gazelles; to an elusive leopard stalking the riverine forest edge; from the far carrying sound of a roaring lion in the early morning to the sight of elephant passing on silent feet in the background, the Mara has it all in abundance.

Even without the wildlife the majestic views are worth the trip. Imagine bright oblique rays of evening light slanting under black storm clouds. The rich golden hues of waving grass are brilliant in this light. Beyond rise the steep smoky blues of the Oloololo Escarpment.

We know the Mara like the backs of our hands – well enough to keep you away from the crowds and free to enjoy this splendor in your own time and space.

We strongly recommend using our Private Luxury Mobile forĀ a truly exclusive experience.
